Red Wagon Parade for Kids June 10th

Pulling Together to Raise Kansas City Kids…

This Saturday, it’s the Red Wagon Parade and Kid’s Rally at Park Place, sponsored by: Park Place, Shawnee Mission Health (LIV), and the Raised with Love and Limits Foundation.
The event benefits the Raised with Love and Limits Foundation.

When and Where: Park Place (Ash Street and 116th Place in Leawood, KS)
Saturday, June 10, 2017, 11:00am – 1:00pm

We’re celebrating parenting and thanking everyone who pulls together to keep our families rolling along! Parents, grandparents, pediatricians, nurses, social service agencies, childcare providers, teachers, coaches, first responders…all who help build a consistent caring, supportive, protective community for our children!

11:00am: RED WAGON PARADE
Kids of all ages and their families, neighbors and friends are invited to decorate Red Wagons, trikes and bikes, and/or walk with posters thanking the names of those who pull together to keep our families rolling along!!

• $10 suggested donation to the Raised with Love and Limits Foundation for preventing adverse childhood experience and toxic stress to improve children’s health, learning and behavior.

• Honorary Red Wagon Parade Grand Marshal, Leawood Mayor, Peggy Dunn

Click here to register online by midnight on June 8th, or at our Park Place store (11536 Ash Street) by 11:59 p.m. on June 9th. A registration table will also be located in Barkley Square at Park Place from 10:00 – 10:45am on Saturday, June 10th before the parade begins. Online registrants and event day registrants can pick up a participation “Rally for Kids” sticker here.

Pre-registrants at The Learning Tree will pick up their participation “Rally for Kids” sticker upon registering at the store.

• Parade attendees will meet at the intersection of Ash Street and 115th Terrace/Rosewood behind BSA Architects 10:30 – 10:45 a.m. Parade will begin promptly at 11am and proceed down Ash Street to Barkley Square. Please click here to view or print map.

Plus, early registrants (by midnight June 8th) are invited to a FREE craft class, the “Red Wagon Parade Sign Decorating Party”, to decorate your wagon, bike, trike, stickers and posters at The Learning Tree on Friday, June 9th from 10:30am – 12:00pm.

We’ll have markers, stickers, and other fancy craft material to personalize your sign so it’s parade-ready! Each sign will have a special place to write in the name(s) of a special person, group of people or place you would like to thank and honor in the Red Wagon Parade

Meet us for the Rally for Kids in BARKLEY SQUARE after the Parade

Fox 4 News Anchor John Holt will be there to announce the awards, activities, and giveaways.

Mr. Stinky FeetEnjoy live music featuring Jim “Mr. Stinky Feet” Cosgrove, plus a magic show, performances by Music House School of Music, Face Painters, Balloon Artists, MyGym kid’s tumbling, and lots of other family fun!

Visit the Parenting to Go Tent sponsored by Shawnee Mission Health and parent educator/author Barbara C. Unell and psychologist/author Jerry L. Wyckoff, Ph.D., co-authors of Discipline with Love and Limits, and co-founders of the Raised with Love and Limits Foundation.

Jim “Mr. Stinky Feet” Cosgrove has been bringing families and communities together through music for nearly two decades. Come sing, dance, and play in the band during this high-energy, interactive show that will get the whole family rockin’.
