It’s Back May 31st!

The Learning Tree Kids Flea Market is May 31st

Our 6th Annual Kids Flea Market is May 31st.

sign up NOW!

The Learning Tree is sponsoring (and marketing!) a flea market for your kids to re-sell their gently used toys, books and games.

It’s a great way for you kids to sell some books, games and toys they’ve out-grown or just gotten tired of.

The Learning Tree at Corinth Square in Prairie Village, KS will provide a space for children to sell their used items at whatever price they decide.

We will market the event to make sure that other kids looking to buy quality toys at a discount, will know what’s happening when.

Best of all? The cost per booth is only $5!

Here’s what you get for $5:
• One space (approx. 6′ x 6′)
• A $5 ticket you can apply as a $5 coupon on any item in The Learning Tree on May 31st.
• A chance to get rid of all the unused toys, games and books in your house that are way too good to throw away.
• Your child gets the opportunity to run his or her own business for a few hours. From set-up to sale, they will have a great experience merchandising, selling, making change, make new friends, AND possibly learn how to negotiate and bargain.
• Your child will have extra money to spend on themselves, for a charity, or save for a rainy day.
• Leftover items may be donated to Operation Breakthrough, a wonderful resource for children.

Any unsold items may be donated to Operation Breakthrough, a nationally accredited, not-for-profit corporation that began in 1971 as a response to requests from parents in the central city for quality child care for children of the working poor.

The program began with 50 infants, toddlers and preschoolers at 31st and Paseo. In 1976, it expanded to include before- and after-school care. The Center moved to its current location at 31st and Troost in 1981. Since that time, it has added a broad range of social services to meet the needs of the children and their families. In 2006, Operation Breakthrough completed an expansion and renovation project that doubled the size of the facility and increased its licensed capacity from 353 children to over 500.

Operation Breakthrough’s initial funding came from the Model Cities Program and a grant from the Hall Family Foundation. Current funding comes from a federal Head Start grant, the State of Missouri, the city of Kansas City, private donations and various foundations.

Operation Breakthrough relies on the generosity of people like you to continue its work.

Magic Mozart Cube is A Hit with Babies

Lately there has been quite a bit in the news connecting the music of Mozart and higher learning abilities. All we know is…kids can’t leave the Munchkin Magic Mozart Cube alone! So, it’s our Learning Tree Toy Of The Week!

Violin, Flute, and Piano are all incuded on the Mozart Magic Cube by Munchkins

Push the picture of the instrument and the symphony begins. Push multiple sides to add or subtract instruments to any of the 8 Mozart masterpieces in this delightful toy’s repertoire. Soft lights flash with the music for added interest.

The Magic Mozart Cube plays 5 individual instruments – harp, flute, French horn, piano and violin. The orchestra button plays all the instruments with one touch.
