Come See Us For National Puzzle Day!

We’re Celebrating National Puzzle Day Saturday Jan. 28-Sunday Jan. 29

Puzzles provide exercise for our brains young and old!

Each type of puzzle offers different challenges and works different skill sets. Puzzling can require visual spacial reasoning, matching, hand eye coordination, patterning and critical thinking.

We have all sorts of puzzles to choose from with different themes and degrees of difficulty. There are beginning wooden knob puzzles, floor puzzles, 3-D puzzles and jigsaw puzzles of all sizes. Then there’s the whole category of Brainteasers – the classic Rubik’s Cube and manipulation toys – as well as games and books that offer up brain exercising, problem solving puzzles to tickle your gray matter.

Dino Big Belly Bank

Last week we ran a request (“It’s OK to Feed ME”) for donation ideas for the collections from the Dino Big Belly Banks that greet customers at both our store locations as they walk in the door.

It’s fun to watch coins zig-zag down the Dino’s long neck and land with a PLOP in its bank belly. A posted sign lets everyone know the organization that will receive a donation once the bank is full. For some customers “feeding the dino” is a ritual when they enter or leave the store.

Several times a year we empty Dino’s belly and donate the coins that Learning Tree visitors generously give. And we asked YOU for suggestions for the 2017 Big Belly Bank Donations.

The response to our search for a local children’s organization was overwhelming! SO many of you in the Learning Tree community have been touched by, work in or support wonderful organizations that help kids and families that live in the metro area.

Thank you so much for your suggestions!
