We are over-ordering to make sure that our shelves are stocked with the best in toys, books and games.

But we’ve found some manufacturers are running at one half their usual capacity and reordering a popular item isn’t always possible. Shipping has been unreliable too.

Opening With Care

We’re happy to announce the Learning Tree is open for In-Store shopping appointments!

We have started our reopening process off slowly and with care to see what works best. We will adjust and revise procedures as we go to help keep our community safe.

Go to our Facebook Page or call 913 385-1234 for information to make an appointment for In-Store Shopping.

Each 30 minute appointment will be limited to two guests. Regular cleaning, face masks for customers and staff and social distancing are all part of our plan.

Learning Tree Store Hours:

Monday – Saturday 10am – 4pm,

Sunday 11am – 3pm

Easter is just around the corner! Life is anything but normal, but the Easter Bunny is still comin’ to town!

The Learning Tree is here to help. We’ve got a store full of Easter plush, toys and books, plus goodies galore, and this year we’re making custom Easter Baskets.

It’s super easy to order!

Just tell us who the basket is for, their age, and what they like. Then, give us a theme: rainbows, trucks, games, art, etc.

We’ll select an assortment of toys, small games and activities and pack it all in a reusable white tub with FREE Personalization available.

We’ll add some Easter Candy if you’d like, and some FREE FUN STUFF from the Learning Tree.

Easter Baskets may be ordered for Curbside Pick-up or Local Delivery.

March 17 Newsletter – Stuck At Home? We Now Have Local Delivery!

Dear Learning Tree Friends,

We want our everyone to stay healthy and well – Learning Tree Friends, our staff and our families.

The Learning Tree is making changes to continue serving our customers and to keep our local neighborhood toy store business going. We need each other!

Like everyone, we are cleaning and then cleaning again. We’ve put away all play tables and demos. All in-store activities are suspended.

We have amazing products to help keep the whole family busy. We have a wonderful assortment of games, puzzles, books, workbooks, craft and science kits. And outdoor toys to help release some of that pent-up energy once the sun comes out!

Birthdays are still on the calendar. Easter will be here before we know it. With all the stress out there, we hope we can help keep the special times special!

We want to remain your resource for our community in a safe way so please read our plan (as of today) below. We are here to help in any way we can. If you have a special request, we’ll do our best. We appreciate your patience while we settle into and tweak these new services. We’re open to thoughts and suggestions.

  • We are asking adults to shop without kids. (This breaks our hearts! We appreciate your understanding on this one.)
  • We always offer curbside service! Call in to make your purchase. Then let us know when you are on your way to the store and we’ll drop your packages right in your trunk.
  • We are now offering FREE Local Deliveries with porch drop off for sales of $35+ to zip codes 66206, 66207 and 66208. Delivery to other areas can be arranged for a small fee.
  • Call 913 385-1234 to place an order OR to set up video shopping so we can help you make selections. OR shop online and use code FREELOCAL at checkout.
  • Our regular services like complimentary gift wrap and shipping are in place as usual.

We’ll be sayin’ “Top o’ the mornin’ to you!” at this special Storytime! Welcome Spring and wear your green at our St. Patrick’s Day Storytime with Miss Kristina.

Puppy lovers don’t paws for a minute, this Storytime is for you! Join Miss Kristina for puppy stories, crafts and treats! This is going to be arf-fully fun!

Save The Date!



Now in its 12th year, taking place each May, the Kids’ Flea Market is our biggest, annual community event. Kids and their families sign up for a space to set up shop and sell their gently used toys and books. Participants vote on the best decorated “booth” and have the option of leaving anything unsold to be donated to Operation Breakthrough.

We look forward to seeing you at our Corinth Square location. If you haven’t visited, it’s our main store just down the road less than 5 miles north. Come play with us! You’ll find familiar faces and all the same wonderful toys, games and gifts, not to mention what we think is the best children’s book selection in Kansas City!

Our Learning Tree staff is the heart of our business and we so appreciate all those who have given their time, energy and passion to this location over the last 12 years.
